A crowdfund startup platform for sex-positive entrepreneurs
Many would love the idea of living pleasurably while working towards making the a better place. This project is working to provide practical and intellectual tools as a foundation for doing exactly that.
The Hedonista CrowdFund Platform is a startup concept. The goal is helping to address sexual pleasure and dysfunction in practical ways that can be personal or commercial.
The concept of using community based business as a means to ‘solving’ some of the intractable sexual dysfunctions that affect so many societies in the world is a very powerful idea. It allows you to make a living from creating the change that you want to see in the world.
Sexuality is one of the most controversial and legally controlled aspects of human behavior. For liberals, conservatives, religious people and atheists it is a subject that brings up strong feelings. Sexuality is a taboo subject to work with in most countries of the world. Yet the light and dark realities of its effects on humanity cannot be ignored.
All over the world laws forbid work with sexuality. There are exceptions. In Amsterdam, sex work is legal allowing a greater range of options for working positively with sexuality. Portland Oregon is one of the top Polyamory capitals of the world. That would be a great city to do any sort of business that deals with alternative relationships as options for people in a time when human connection is being replaced by the digital world.
The Hedonista Crowdfund startup offers resources for those who want to work positively in the field of sexuality. It is for those who enjoy working with sex but in a way that improves society and makes peoples lives happier and more fulfilling.
We used the fundraising platform GoFundMe for the Hedonisia Rebirth Fund to help us recover from the 2018 volcano destruction of the Hedonisia Hawaii EcoFeminist Community.
Working on this campaign gave us the idea to crowdfund sex-positive ideas that help society.
We would use a similar coding infrastructure as traditional crowdfunding sites such as Kickstarter and GoFundMe. However, there would be additional safeguards and other features to reflect the adult nature of the site.
Sex-Positive Funding
Ethical and erotic ideas that people have from around the world that they are unable to realize because of a lack of funds. They must be an ethical erotic business that addresses problems in human sexuality in some form.
There are many areas of human sexuality which are dysfunctional. In each of those areas, there are potential products or services that can address areas of sexual dysfunction AND make a profit.
The Hedonista Crowdfund is based on three aspects of human behavior:
- Compersion: This is defined as when someone is having positive feelings by the pleasure of another. Usually, compersion applies to those in non-monogamous relationships. However, when it comes to sexuality, compersion can travel across borders and cultures.
- Sexual guilt: Most people enjoy sex and often feel guilty at the same time! Funding another person’s sexual healing can be a way of assuaging that guilt.
- Pleasurable Activism. Many people want to improve society but perhaps want to do so in a way that is fun or sex-positive.
Websites we manage that are examples of sex-positive companies for the Hedonista Crowdfund:
- EcoSensual: Sensual natural birth control and fertility calendar.
- Natural Miscarriage: Reproductive Rights Information for Women.
- Tantric Ganja: A marijuana based aphrodisiac for couples and singles.
- World Art Erotica: A virtual museum of sensual art and literature from across the world.
- Hedonisia.com: Book trilogy on cultural feminism, the age divide, sexuality, diversity and free speech.
Startup Tech Concept Seeking Volunteers
As a startup, our plan to use an off-the-shelf crowdfunding plugin and customize it to the particularities of managing a sex-positive crowdfunding platform. For tech persons who resonate with this project we are seeking a programmer and website builder.
